- Easy to use
The Tender Lead creates relaxation and calmness by gentle pressure to appropriate reflex points behind a dog's ears and on his muzzle. Gentle pressure on these "touch" or "reflex" points, create a rewarding training situation in which your dog learns quickly and effiencently. Designed and approved to achieve maximum benefit through effective communication and relaxing touch points. The side pieces of the Tender Lead move the whole head, simular to a horse halter. Other halter devices tend to pull just the dog’s muzzle. The Tender Lead stays in place for comfort, safety and to effectively communicate the desired behavior. Your dog can open his mouth, drink and pant without restraint.

Your dog will immediately understand that he can not pull you on a walk but needs to stay close to you. For those overly active Fidos, the Tender Lead© is calming thereby giving Fido time to think instead of reacting to a jerk on the collar or tugging of a harness. With the exclusive martingale design under the muzzle, immediate release of tension is the result when the dog chooses appropriate behavior.
Safe and Humane!
The Tender Lead is designed to prevent tracheal damage and injury due to pulling. Additionally, dogs understand pressure to their muzzle or behind the ears because that's how their mom communicated with them. With gentle persuasion, you can now enjoy a pleasureable walk and training sessions with your best friend.
Training with the Tender Lead
With the Tender Lead properly adjusted, you will immediately notice a difference in your dog’s behavior. If he tries to “paw” off the nose piece, distract him with his favorite treat or toy. Additionally, gentle tension on the leash will help him to understand this is undesirable behavior. Always reward generously during the initial training period. Generally, dogs accept the Tender Lead quickly because of the design, touch point’s relaxing effects and comfortable fit.
Now, you are ready to walk with your dog!
With the leash attached to the “D” ring under the muzzle, gently guide your dog to walk with you. If he tries to pull ahead, very gently (remember you are guiding him through touch) pull the leash to guide him to stay by you. Always reward positive behavior.
Caution!! NEVER jerk on the leash or allow your dog to run to the end of the leash while wearing the Tender Lead. This could cause injury, if proper training techniques are not strictly observed. Never leave your dog unattended while wearing the Tender Lead. Always work with your dog in a safe and confined area before venturing out into more distracting places.

Testimonal:
"Phil the Wonder Dog learned a life saving lesson (his own life)
with the Tender Lead. He learned quickly that the chickens were not "squeaky toys!" He is now better behaved and a joy to be with. The Tender Lead made all the difference by relaxing him and giving me enough control to break his "prey drive" long enough to change his behavior."
